The sun finally came out over the weekend and the Vitalified Sports Team's achievements shine bright as August enters. Vitalified athletes from the Visayas Region actively secured accomplishments across various races and provinces.

Cheerful Wins in Visayan Region

In the Queen City of the South, 23-year-old JBoy Villacarillo seized the 3rd position in the demanding 11 km Trail Run at Pamutan Trailfest 2023. The race was held in Barangay Pamutan in Cebu City from August 5 to 6.

In an Instagram post, Boy said he is thankful for the support from his sponsors, coaches, friends, and Team Vitality for the "unending support."

In Lapu-Lapu City also in Cebu, Cheer Cordova joined the Mactan-Cebu International Airport run in the 10km Category. The fun run sought to provide assistance to the Tingo Day Cay center in Olango Island, as well as to contribute to Lapu-Lapu City and the charitable organization Smile Train.

And in the provincial capital of Cebu City, Vitalified Coach Lyra Valles took part in the 32nd Lite Ferries anniversary run on July 30. She completed the challenging 24km race category, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 2 hours and 32 minutes.

Hopscotching to Sub-1

Hopping westward to the Negros island, James Uy earned another personal achievement by securing the 7th position in the Male Category of the 10km run at the Geely Bacolod First Anniversary Run in Bacolod City.

Certified Racers

Back in the national capital region, athletes from Vitalified Sports – Jordan Billones, Archie Patubo, Mitchelle Ayawom, and Lyra Valles – obtained their Level 2 Technical Officer certification granted by both the World Obstacle Fédération Internationale de Sports d'Obstacles (FISO) and the Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation (POSF).

The Technical Committees of POSF, in partnership with World Obstacle, hold the collective responsibility for formulating policies, guidelines, and systems pertaining to Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) competitions.

Jordan Billiones, known for securing podium finishes in Spartan Races, has chosen to pursue certification as a Technical Official with World Obstacle, driven by his passion for OCR. "I really enjoy being part of the community and want to actively contribute to the sport itself," he said in an email.

Having established himself as a formidable contender in the OCR scene, Jordan takes pride in upholding the values of integrity and fair gameplay in each race he partakes in. He emphasized that his aspiration not only revolves around ensuring fair competition within the field of OCR but also focuses on his own personal development. He further explained, "I'm driven by the desire for personal growth and the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills while deeply connecting with the sport." — The Creatives Team
