Gleaming Moments: Victory Through Time

July 27, 2023

The stadion fever has finally subsided, yet the spark of Vitalified athletes continues to burn bright. The impressive back-to-back weekend podium wins of Vitalified Sports Athletes highlight their prowess and uplift the spirit of its members wherever they may be.

From Sedentary to Podium

Topping the list is Vitalified Sports very own Chief, Aldrin Collantes, who joined the American Express Fun Run and claimed the victory on 5km race last July 23, 2023, which was held at the Makati Oval Circuit.

Throughout his professional career, it has been no secret that he led a predominantly sedentary lifestyle with no particular inclination toward sports. However, a significant shift occurred when Aldrin decided to alter his outlook in life and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

"Ever since I started my running journey around 13 months ago, I've always challenged myself for better results; hence, I thought of joining this time," Aldrin said in a short message interview.

In just a year, he has finished major multi-sport races, including the recent Clark Triathlon Classic in April 2023, held in Clark, Pampanga. These races have become his instruments to inspire people to add more value, not just for himself, but also for his colleagues. "...helping people who are starting the same journey has always been my passion. Because their stories resonate with mine," he said.

In the bustling corporate world, achieving a work-life balance can be an arduous feat for many. So for Aldrin, he makes sure that he has orderly and effective time management since achieving work-life balance is an integral part of it.

He emphasizes that he had lots of struggles when it comes to time management. Although he admits it was never easy, his determination kept him going, especially when he was just starting.

For Aldrin, celebrating small wins and learning from opportunities are keys to finding balance between work and a healthy lifestyle. "You have to remember that it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon - albeit a never-ending one.”

Aldrin firmly believes that setting specific goals and connecting them to the outcomes is what keeps his drive going. "At the end of the day, it’s all about looking forward to the results, which will make you stick to your goals and help you keep that momentum going, whatever it takes," he said.

For those seeking to embark on their fitness journey, Aldrin offers valuable advice. "Surround yourself with people who will support you, guide you, and help you grow."

Time is Limited, but Never an Excuse

Like the chief of Vitalified Spartan Race Team, Roxy Ruedas, who is also a full-time employee and a single mom of 4 kids, has also claimed victory in the recent Warrior Bod Competition for the female category which was held in Pretty Huge in BGC last weekend. Fred Mercado and Jerwin Alea also joined the competition.

This Vitalified Mom joined the Warrior Bud Competition so that she could increase accountability and improve her physique. "Im trying to lose the pounds to be lighter for road and trail events. My goal this year is to complete a full marathon and ultra trail” she said.

Like Aldrin, Roxy believes that time management is a key factor in achieving a healthier lifestyle, especially for all moms out there who want to start their fitness journey. "Fitness is a 100% commitment. To all moms, your kids need a happy mom," Roxy answered when asked by one of the event hosts.

With conviction, she adds, "Working out will definitely result in a happy mind and body." Roxy's words serve as an empowering reminder to all moms that dedicating time to self-care and fitness not only benefits themselves but also positively impacts their ability to be present and joyful towards their kids.
